Cool your home at 78o or warmer with the fan switch on “auto.” For extra savings, raise the thermostat to 82o when you’re not home.

Keep Your Unit Clean & Clear
Be sure to clean or change your air filter at least once a month, and always use the proper size for your unit. It is also important to keep your outside unit clear of debris to avoid blocking the airflow.

Humidity Control in Your Absence
First Class recommends a programmable thermostat to help control your home’s humidity during extended times of absence. Set the programmable thermostat to run for only two hours a day from 12 noon to 2 pm daily. Results: Temperature will range usually between 76 – 83 degrees, humidity in the range of 47% to 57%, and it will keep your monthly energy cost the same for each month. A programmable thermostat will always out perform a dehumidistat. The programmable thermostat method for humidity control is also recommended by Florida Power & Light.
